Power of Attorney

I heard her cry, and my heart skipped a beat. I could not wait to hold her in my arms. I had waited 9 months for this day, and it finally arrived. The hospital nurse wrapped her up and placed her on my chest. I could not take my eyes from her face. She was perfect. The small round nose, the soft cheeks, the sweetest sounds that escaped her lips made it worth the wait. I was overcome with love and fear. What happens next? What if something happens to me or my husband? Who will care for my daughter? Who will raise and love her like me? All these questions swirled in my head and it made me want to freeze time. In that instant I knew we had to prepare for the future and the “what ifs”. Having a Power of Attorney in place is so important. Knowing someone you trust will be able to care and step in when my husband and I were not there. We made sure that we called and set up an appointment, because I wanted my daughter to be cared for if I could not.
  1. What is a Power of Attorney? Someone that you designate to step in on your behalf.
  2. How do I pick an agent? Think about someone you can trust. A relative, close friend, or someone that will be looking out for the interest of you and the ones you leave behind.
  3. Can I have multiple agents? Yes. You can appoint multiple agents.
  4. How do I make my Power of Attorney legally-binding? You must sign and notarize a power of attorney document.
These steps can seem overwhelming and difficult to think about. The Law Offices of Samantha K. Wolfe, LLC are here to help implement your estate plan. Let us walk you though these steps and help you plan for your future. Call to schedule a FREE initial Consultation at (717) 655-2676. We want to make this a smooth process for you.
